So the Phantom took some hits while learning to fly the darn thing and as a result ended up with a few fractures in the shell that caused it to fly poorly. Ordered up a new shell and swapped it all over. It was tedious but very rewarding. The drone flys perfectly again and all for 70 bucks and a couple hours labor. I enjoyed the repair so much and have over 10 years of small electronics repair so figured I’d put it to use and made a Craigslist add offering my service. Honestly think I enjoyed repairing as much as flying it. There are youtube diy videos out there but even with those available there is a large portion of the population that just aren’t into cracking open gadgets so maybe I can be of assistance to these folks make an extra buck and learn more about them all at the same time.

Can you fix my UdiRC UFO quadcopter?

Just kidding it was $20 and is a total piece of SHIT. Thing barely flew out of the box. Once the mid-range quadcopters go down a bit more in price I’d love to pick up something like your Phantom.

I already want a phantom 4 the 3 is still amazing. Some of the best times are just programming a route using one of the many apps available and watching it go to work for you. The apps make for much better video because they are so much more controlled. Of course it’s still a blast to just zip around on your own too.

I’m all about controlling it on my own. The route feature seems cool, though. Something like this has been a childhood dream of mine, since R/C airplanes and helicopters were prohibitively expensive at the time I wanted those toys. I still want those toys but a quadcopter seems like a million times more fun. Maybe I’ll spring for a pantom 3 or maybe a lower-end (but still decent) one. I’m open for suggestions.
